How to connect a BYD karaoke microphone
Start with the receiver supplied with your microphone kit and the instructions for that receiver. Park safely before connecting, changing settings or reading the screen. The steps below are a general setup sequence for a compatible kit; exact controls depend on the hardware.
1. Check the kit and charge the microphone
Lay out the microphone, matching receiver and any supplied adapter. A wireless microphone still needs power, and the receiver is a separate part of the audio connection. Charge according to the supplied manual, then switch on the microphone and check its indicator.
For a Duo kit, keep both microphones with the receiver supplied for that set. Do not assume a microphone bought separately can join an existing receiver. Check supported microphone count and the pairing procedure before combining products.
2. Connect to a supported USB data port
Use the vehicle handbook to identify a data-capable port. A socket that charges a phone is not necessarily suitable for microphone audio. If the receiver uses USB-A and the supported port is USB-C, use a data-capable adapter approved for the kit.
Insert the receiver securely without forcing it. Avoid adding hubs or extension cables during the first test: a direct connection makes it easier to isolate a port or adapter problem. The connector fitting physically is only the first check.
3. Test microphone sound before opening an app
Turn music down and begin with a moderate microphone level. Speak normally with the microphone facing your mouth and away from the speakers. Check whether your voice comes through the vehicle system. If the kit has a mute control, make sure it is not active.

4. Add music and balance the levels
Once your voice is audible, play a familiar song from an audio source supported by your vehicle. Bring music up gradually, then adjust microphone level so words stay clear. Start with minimal effects; heavy reverb can make it harder to understand lyrics in a small cabin.
The kit does not remove the original singer from a normal recording. Use an instrumental or karaoke track if you want backing music without lead vocals. The source app controls its own catalog and availability.
5. Check optional karaoke features separately
If your vehicle offers a karaoke app, follow its on-screen setup. App availability, songs, scoring and pitch features depend on region, software and compatible microphone hardware. A working microphone does not prove that every advanced function is supported.
DriveMic scoring and Perfect Pitch support have not been verified here. Do not install unofficial firmware or reset the vehicle merely to unlock an advertised app feature. Ask support for the documented requirements first.
Frequently asked questions
Do I pair it in the car Bluetooth menu?
Follow the receiver manual. A kit using its own USB receiver should not be assumed to pair like a Bluetooth phone.
Can I sing with a normal music track?
On a compatible setup you can sing along with supported vehicle audio. The original vocals remain unless your audio source supplies an instrumental or vocal-reduced track.
